Item Description
Tsumeb is one of the world's great mineral localities, producing nearly 350 different mineral species, most of which are the top examples ever found. This piece is a wonderful crystallized example of Bayldonite featuring a rich coverage of strong green colored Bayldonite, some of which have formed beautiful pseudomorphs after preexisting prismatic Mimetite. You can see the Bayldonite has formed hollow "cast" replacements where the Mimetite once grew. The matrix is completely covered with Bayldonite on all sides, and the pseudomorphs look beautiful up close. A fine example of this unique material from this prolific mine. Valued $1,200.
From the collection of Colin Manlove, with a dealer label and a collection label from Don Schultz.
