Item Description

A gorgeous, gemmy/translucent, bastnesite crystal from recent finds at Zagi Mountain, Pakistan. The beautiful colors vary from rich golden-amber to dark honey-brown. The crystal has textbook hexagonal form typical for this RARE cerium carbonate. These crystals have stellar intense color, gemminess, luster, and form. Complete all-around. The out-of-sight back has a contact with no damage, per se and a very modest bit of contacting/bruising near the base. This is an excellent, highly representative and gemmy example of this rare species. This find redefines what the average collector can get for the top of the species. The backlit photo highlights the incredibly rich golden-amber color and gemminess of this fine thumbnail. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection. It was priced at $350, when he bought it at Tucson in 2010. Valued at $350-450.
