Item Description
This is a lovely miniature matrix specimen is significant for the locality known for rare earth species, and is beautiful for this material. It features a cluster of tabular, parallel growth, lustrous and translucent, amber-orange bastnasite crystals, measuring 9 mm across. Resting on one edge of the bastnasite cluster is a rhombhedral crystal of lustrous and translucent, colorless dolomite, 8 mm in length. Exquisite rarity in matrix from a classic locale! Ex. Martin Zinn collection (sold in 2003) to Dr Wouter Van Tichelen Collection, to us. Valued $750-1000 - these rarely turn up ON MATRIX, please note. While singles are common enough from some old finds, matrix pieces are not. This probably dates to the 1980s
