Item Description
Hands down one of the finest Bastnasites for its size, I think. 3.5 cm across, this amazing crystal has a deep cinnamon color and is gemmy along all the side faces. The main termination is sharply formed and has excellent, aesthetic bevelling to the sides. The side faces are all highly lustrous, as is the base. There even appears to be two generations of growth, as the lower portion of the crytal is wider than the upper. All in all, an aesthetic and important specimen for this species and of a quality rarely seen in crystals above 1 cm of this habit. From finds in the early 2000s here. Valued $2500-3000
