Item Description

A rare and excellent combination from the ancient mines at Cavnic. Glassy, grayish-blue to colorless, tabular baryte crystals, to 3.0 cm, are aesthetically framed on the gossan matrix. Rare and nicely accenting accessories are the scattered spherules of gray native arsenic on both the baryte and matrix and tiny boulangerite needles included in the baryte blades. A few broken barytes are noted, but have very minimal impact on the high quality of this fine rarity. Ex Cynthia Payne Collection. Valued at $695 by the former dealer.
