Item Description

A classic example of these iconic Baryte Rose specimens from near Norman, Oklahoma. This piece is nearly a complete "floater", crystallized nearly everywhere, save one small point of contact on the base. It's a rather aesthetic group for the material, and sits beautifully on its own without the aid of a base or clay. The crystals have formed in compressed tabular blades that are intergrown to create "rose" shapes, and the dark brown hue is due to sand/sediment that is included with the Barytes themselves. Not nearly as common the market as they were years ago, and certainly worth picking up if you collect Baryte or minerals from the mid-southern part of the United States.
