Item Description

SUPERB cluster of en echelon, watery green, gemmy to translucent, and supremely lustrous Baryte crystals from the famous mines at Frizington. The largest crystal is even doubly terminated. The Barytes have a slight golden tint and even are spotted with micro inclusions of Hematite. The piece is in remarkably good condition, with only a small amount of chatter on the chisel point terminations. The color is good, as well - and WITH luster! Quite classic in form and far better than the norm in quality. English Barytes have a long and storied history, and have proven to be highly desirable specimens for this reason and their sheer beauty, almost unsurpassed by any other locality since their origins in the mid-1800s. I have seen very few English Barytes of this style, to match the quality and aesthetics of this specimen. Valued $6000-7500
