Item Description

An attractive piece from Lubin Mine in Poland, which for many years has been producing gorgeous specimens of Baryte and Marcasite, found in various styles. This large miniature / small cabinet piece is from a somewhat recent find that produced these iconic stalactites of Baryte which are coated by sparkling metallic (slightly iridescent) golden Marcasite on the exterior. You can see at the base of the specimen that the cream colored Baryte is still present underneath, so it's not a pseudomorph, simply a coating of Marcasite over Baryte. You can also see thin openings on the base of the piece where the Baryte truly grew in stalactitic formations.
