Item Description
Glassy, translucent, blocky, colorless barite crystals, to 1.7 cm, totally cover the matrix plate on this large and very rich specimen from this extinct old Colorado fluorite mine. Fluorite was mined here for flux at the steel mill in Pueblo in the early-mid 1900s. This exceptional and rich large barite for the locale was self-collected by Jon Voelter. Specimens of this quality, richness and size are uncommon. A must for the species or locality collector.
