Item Description
Rich honey-brown, blocky, lustrous, translucent barite crystals cover this impressive sculptural large tapered specimen from Montana. The large crystals, nicely concentrated on the top, reach 2.5 cm. Many of the crystals have a preferential secondary Barite overgrowth giving them a nice frosted look. The bruised crystal in the middle is certainly only a modest detraction. A large high quality example of the species and the locale from the Bob Reynolds Collection. Bob is a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. Valued at $1000-1250.
