Item Description

A hefty and beautiful big specimen of this distinctive material from this copper mine in western Poland. This near large cabinet sized specimen is a fairly thick polished cross-section of plumose-esque aggregates of cream to tan colored Baryte. The upper portion of the piece has a sparkly coating of metallic light golden colored Marcasite. When these pieces are found, they can be somewhat non-descript and "jumbled", but when they are cut and polished, they reveal and a beautiful internal form. It's almost like cracking open a geode, as every one will yield a slightly different formation. Additionally, the lighter colored Baryte will actually fluoresce a bright whitish-green color under SW UV light. Very cool, and unlike anything I can remember seeing from any locality.
