Baryte on Wulfenite (1994)

Very showy and rich large combination from the major 1994 find at the famous San Francisco Mine of Sonora, Mexico, one of the world's great wulfenite producing localities. Numerous striking upright rosettes of parallel-growth, thin tabular baryte blades are richly and aesthetically scattered on the sculptural, large triangular matrix covered with glassy, yellow wulfenite windowpanes. The prominent compound wulfenite is 2.3 cm across. There are also a few scattered, tiny orange Mimetite botryoids as a bonus. The interior is in great shape, overall, for all the crystal density. All of the bartye rosettes appear to be pristine and the noted minimal edge bruising to two of the large wulfenite crystals is certainly a modest detraction in the context of the large specimen. An impressive, large and rich baryte on wulfenite combination from the renowned locale. These normally go for thousands of dollars.
