Item Description
Marvelous architecture on this striking large baryte and quartz combination from recent finds at Jinkouhe, Sichuan. Diamond-shaped, tabular colorless baryte crystals are aesthetically set on diverging sprays of glassy quartz points. The dramatically set large, stout baryte is 5.0 x 4.0 x 1.2 cm, translucent to transparent and has satin luster faces. The baryte on the right is 2.8 cm long and the baryte below the large crystal is 3.8 cm long. The imposing large quartz point is 4.5 cm long. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection. He was the curator of the San Bernardino Museum and a well-known California field collector. A beautifully composed combination specimen.
