Item Description

An outstanding and deceptive barite on fluorite combination from the famous Annabel Lee Mine. This sculptural and very aesthetic two-sided piece is highlighted by the striking 6.3 cm corsage of glassy, lustrous, tabular barite spearpoints on one side. The corsage continues onto the other side and is 6.0 cm wide and is beautifully accented by smaller corsages and isolated single blades. Deceptive in that the cubic fluorite cleavage appears lustrous matte purple under normal lighting conditions - BUT when backlit the translucent bi-colored crystal has a beautiful rich sky-blue core with a bright purple outer rind. Ex Ross Lillie Collection # 1662 and collected by Ross himself in December, 1985. A classic, exceptional and pristine combination from the locale. Valued at $900.
