Item Description

An aesthetic and excellent large combination specimen from this less well-known Cave-in-Rock District Mine. Pearlescent rosettes of barite blades richly and attractively cover the front of the scuptural intergrown cluster of lustrous, moderately translucent rich grape-purple fluorite cubes. Barite is well-known from the Crystal Mine and this is an outstanding combination example. Faint dark purple fluorite fluorescence. Old-time material from the Ross Lillie Collection # 1049. It comes with an Eckert Mineral Research label from Florence, Colorado, that dates from 1948-63. The $5.50 price on the label was not cheap in those days.
