Baryte on Calcite

Item Description

Sharp, gray-blue, lustrous and translucent baryte spear points, to about 1.5 cm, strikingly cover the front and top of this sculptural and impressive 360-degree large combination from the well-known Rosiclare Sub-District of Hardin County. The impressive back is totally covered with spear points, partially covered with granular material. The underlying matrix is stout, large rhombohedral, translucent, gray to tan calcite crystals. The noted basal periphery wear is certainly a modest detraction to this excellent combination. Ex Al Kidwell Collection and purchased from well-known Arkansas dealer, Ocus Stanley, in 1982.
