Item Description
Glassy, transparent, golden barite crystals cover the sculptural large matrix plate. A druse of tiny golden pyrite crystals is a typical accessory from the district, where uranium was extracted from 1947-63. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2640 and acquired from the Lindemann Collection in September, 1962. Comes with a Lindemann label. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Specimens of this richness, size and quality are uncommon.
