The numerous barite mines in this district are well-known for excellent barite specimens and this is an outstanding 360-degree small cabinet. Sculptural diverging arborescent clusters of glassy, translucent gray parallel-growth barite crystals have striking chisel terminations and stepped-growth faces. Brown inclusions on side faces are typical and fine contrasting accessories. Ex Minette (well-known California collectors) and Reynolds Collections. Classic and excellent Georgia barite.
