Item Description

The Ross Lillie label on this impressive and aesthetic combination states that: "This is a very large barite crystal from the Denton." This is a beautifully composed complete all-around two-sided specimen. The glassy, large, gray and white tabular barites reach 7.0 cm and are dramatically crowned by two classic bi-colored fluorite cubes with frosted very dense stepped-growth faces. The fluorites are enhanced by bright golden chalcopyrite sphenoids, both on and enclosed within the cubes. The back of cubes are etched, with no damage and the few straw-yellow calcite rhombs are a nifty accent. Nearly pristine, you can hardly tell that the front edge of the smaller fluorite cube is bruised. Mined in calculated 1980 and from the Asher and Nancy Tullis Collection. Faint purple fluorite fluorescence. Valued at $1500 for barite rarity and combination quality.
