Baryte (fine quality)

Item Description

Here we have a showy and fine quality display specimen featuring gemmy, sharp, lustrous, thick, blaed golden Baryte crystals from the famous Meikle Mine in Nevada. The main crystal measures 8.2 cm across, and is virtually damage-free, though I can see a few tiny imperfections with a loupe. As mentioned, the crystals are fairly thick, and that classic golden color is iconic for the locality. Good quality, classic material and hard to photograph, and I would say better in person. Priced at $2,050 in the inventory. From the collection of Colorado mining legend, Dave Bergman. Dave is now retired, but among other things, he was the foreman and primary person in charge of recovering specimens at the famous Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado during the late 1970s.
