Baryte (fine gemmy crystals)

A beautiful specimen of these excellent, iconic, and I think it's safe to say these now classic Barytes from Cerro Warihuyn, Peru. These attractive, high quality and distinctive specimens started appearing on the market in the early 2000s, and they are some of the best quality examples of the species from any locality in South America. This large miniature / small cabinet sized piece features sharp, lustrous, VERY gemmy (virtually water-clear in areas), tabular bladed Baryte crystals of a beautiful silvery-blue color measuring up to about 1.5 cm, aesthetically sitting on matrix. I love the balance and three-dimensional appeal, with little damage overall. These pieces are now hard to find on the market, and certainly worth picking up if you collect Barytes, Peruvian minerals or general display pieces.
