Item Description
Outstanding and sculptural small cabinet barite from the important 2012-14 Morocco finds. Opposing parallel-growth sheaves of thin-bladed crystals form a most dramatic specimen. The glassy, translucent blades have gorgeous ice-blue bodies, that are fantastically capped and accented with gem white barite "snow-capped" terminations. I just took this in on major trade with a local collector. He paid $3500 for it, when they were fresh on the market. It is worth more today and comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $145, for free. Barite from here is often wrongly labeled "Sidi Lahcen" (MINDAT). These are the finest worldwide barite finds in the recent past and this is an exceptional example.
