Baryte (classic material)

Item Description

Here we have a big, robust and showy display specimen of the famous Meikle Barytes featuring several large, gemmy, lustrous, fairly thick, golden tabular sitting atop compressed rhombs of Calcite on matrix. The largest crystal measures 7.1 cm on edge, which is good sized for the material, and all of the Barytes form an almost "flower"-like group, as they have grown in multiple directions, creating a very pleasing effect. Most of the crystals are in very good condition, though there is one broken crystal on the back. Classic material and better in person, as it's a bit difficult to photograph / video. The accompanying label states that the piece was collected between October and December of 2003.
