Item Description

An impressive, large, rich and decidely different two-sided barite plate from famous Baia Sprie. This historic polymetallic precious metal mine is noted from outstanding barite specimens and this is a large good one. One side features a dense jackstraw jumble of classic, lustrous and translucent gray spearpoints. The other side is strikingly different with the rich preferential dusting of sparkly iron oxides or sulfides. The front is nearly pristine, with only a bit of periphery wear, which is certainly only a modest detraction. The scattered broken blades on the back are out-of-sight in the primary display side.
