Item Description

Golden-brown, glassy, lustrous, tabular barite blades are richly and aesthetically clustered on the drusy quartz matrix on this this showy and excellent specimen from the Juanita Mine, near the famous Kelly Mine at Magdalena. The blades reach 2.2 cm and there is very little bruising. Such barites are well-known from here and the piece is probably from the 2000 find. Choice material from the Chris Cowan Collection, a New Mexico specialist.
