Item Description

This specimen is an example of an old English classic (mid to late 1800s era, probably) from Frizington. It is highly lustrous and translucent, with its coloration caused by very fine, red Hematite inclusions. The three-dimensionality of the cluster is outstanding, and there is just one chip on the transverse crystal. Otherwise, the piece is virtually pristine, which is unheard of for an old English Baryte. To me, this choice small cab looks like the hand of a scout taking a pledge. A choice piece, and hard to find in such quality. valued $1500-2000
