Item Description

The Victoria Mine in the Cartagena area of Spain is well-known for producing fine quality crystallized Baryte specimens, with varying habits and colors. This particular is easy recognizable for the locality, featuring intergrown "floret"-esque groups comprising blocky bladed crystals which measure to about 5 mm individually, and have a light cream color, but a richer orange hue in areas due to iron oxide coatings/inclusions. A previous generation or more "spade"-shaped, broader Baryte crystals can be seen on the lower portion of the specimen. The piece is quite showy, with no major damage I can find.
