A impressive full cabinet sized Baryte specimen from this classic locality in the Massif Central of France. This hand-sized specimen features a coverage of sharp, fairly thick, lustrous, gemmy, gentle golden colored Baryte crystals which measure up to 1.9 cm, on a thin layer of matrix. Certain crystals have slight frosted edges with a light tan hue, creating a beautiful two-tone effect. No major damage that I can see and the larger crystals are well-isolated, allowing them to really stand out. If you're a fan of worldwide Barytes or French minerals this is a good example to add to your collection. Valued $1,500
Spectacular piece from the collection of the long time, beloved, well-known French field collector, Paul Zerfass (#1763). Zerfass built this worldwide collection over nearly 50 years, many of which were personally collected. A biography featuring specimens from his collection (along with his face on the cover) is in the May - June 2017 issue of French mineral magazine, Le Règne Minéral.
