Item Description

Massive intergrown cluster of four prismatic chisel tipped, lustrous, translucent, honey colored Baryte crystals. The largest crystal is 7.1 cm long and a thick 3.3 cm wide. The Baryte crystals glow a bright golden honey color when backlit. The Barytes are in very good condition and have an appealing geometric form that is almost flower like. A classic French Baryte from the Paul Zerfass Collection (#125 and self-collected by the former owner decades ago). These are true old classics, seldom seen for sale today. This was one of the best of all, and certainly among the best small cabinet sized pieces, in a group covering several shelves of a display case in the Zerfass home at one time.
