Item Description
An attractive and fairly hard to find specimen of Baryte from this well known locality in Georgia. This miniature sized specimen features a few crystal groups of soft silvery-blue colored, sharp, somewhat thick, orthorhombic blades of Barite measuring up to 4.1 cm long sit on minor matrix. Good quality all around, it's rather aesthetic, and as you can see from the photos, it does display well. The crystals are a bit translucent when backlit, which is a nice touch. Pieces like this simply are not on the market anymore. I don't know which mine this piece is from as there are over 50 in the district, so I simply left it as Cartersville.
