Item Description

Striking golden-yellow, gemmy and lustrous tabular baryte crystals are densely and attractively festooned, jackstraw-style on the sculptural elongated matrix. The large crystal is 2.8 cm tall. In great shape, overall, for all the crystal density. A modest bit of lower periphery wear is noted on the primary display side and the back lower edge of the large crystal is dinged, but is out-of-sight in the primary display view. The 1997-2000 finds at this well-known gold mine established the Meikle Mine as one of the world's great baryte localities. See the 1999 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 30, No. 3.
