Item Description
Barrerite is one of the rarest Zeolite Group species and is related to stilbite. Some of the very finest examples of the species come from this Alaska island and this is an aesthetic, rich and excellent small cabinet. Sharp parallel-growth, pearlescent barrerite blades, to 3.5 cm, are strikingly clustered, jackstraw-style on the matrix plate. This is a very fine, pristine in the interior, 360-degree example of the species and location. These came out in the mid-1990s and I have not seen them since. A must for the zeolite or locality collector. Ex David Burgess Collection, for whom Burgessite is named.
