Item Description
A striking, highly unusual, old-time barite specimen from the famous Mowbray Mine. The think, glassy, translucent spearpoint has a dramatic, well-defined, colorless termination above the honey-yellow lower body, which holds a rare, darker phantom in the center. Only trivial edgewear is noted at the termination and some contacting on the lower back, so it has almost no damage, per se. This dramatic, old classic is really in excellent condition, overall. The phantom is intense and very, very novel - not something you normally see. Comes with a George English label dating the piece to 1899-1901! Ex Robert Whitmore Collection.
