Item Description
A big showy cabinet sized specimen from the world famous Huanzala Mine, featuring dozens of fine quality, white bladed Barites crystals measuring up to 3.1 cm across associated with reddish-black Sphalerite (mostly on the underside) and sitting on a layer of vitreous, pale pinkish colored Dolomite matrix. Most of the Barite crystals are in good shape, but there are a few nicks here and there, so the piece is not 100% pristine. It's rare to encounter a Huanzala Barite on the market these days, and it's certainly not common to find full cabinet sized plates of this material that are display quality. This one stands out as a very good example of this hard to find material from a world-famous locality. Valued at $950.
