Item Description

A fantastic and hard to find large cabinet display specimen from the lesser known Murray Mine (not to be confused with the Meikle Mine) in Nevada. This piece features a layer of Barite on matrix, which is coated by sugary / drusy Quartz. The Barite formed in translucent, pseudo-rhombic, blocky crystals with soft silvery hue, then a depostion of sparkling white Quartz came in to create the "sugarbowl" effect. The largest Barite crystal measures 1.3 cm. Some silvery-black areas can be seen on the piece, which we believe is minor Stibnite. Very little damage, and showy as you can see from the photos. The piece came from the Sugarbowl Pocket. A big impressive cabinet of this limited and gorgeous material. Priced at $1,600.
