Barite with Fluorite, Galena and Calcite (ex Mark Kielbaso Collection)

Item Description

A beautiful combination specimen featuring four of the staple species from this locality. First you can see the "snowball"-esque group of cream colored Barite measuring 4.8 cm at its longest dimension associated with lavender GEMMY cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 1.3 cm which play host to small scalenohedral crystals of pale golden and colorless Calcite. When you flip the piece over, you can see wonderful silvery metallic cuboctahedral crystals (some of which have a slight skeletal look) of Galena. The piece is in excellent condition all around with only a small separation mark on the back where it was removed from the pocket wall. A beautiful association specimen and a showy overall piece from this well-known mine. The pieces comes to us from the Mark Kielbaso collection, and there was a note with the specimen that states it was found in 1986 at the 82-76 #6 portion of the mine.
