Barite with Fluorite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A classic old time specimen from Wieden in the Black Forest of Germany featuring sharp, blades of Barite measuring up to 1.2 cm associated with gemmy silvery lilac colored cubes of Fluorite on matrix. There is a drusy coating of Quartz in areas, and the coating of orange-brown iron oxide makes for a nice contrast. These are rare on the market today from Wieden. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#2758). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
