Item Description

A few intense red colored, lustrous Cinnabar crystals are sitting on sharp, lustrous, tabular parallel-growth, off-white colored Barite crystals on this classic specimen from a famed German locale - the Clarashall Mine. The oxide-tinted crystals have sharp beveled edges. This Barite mine closed in the early 1970s. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5734). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
