Item Description

This is a classic association specimen from this well known locality in west Germany. This mine had been active up until 2007, and was mined during the 20th Century mostly for Barite. This piece features some attractive crystals of bladed white Barite crystals which measure up to 4.0 cm associated with brassy colored Chalcopyrite crystals and dusted by Pyrite. It's an unusual piece as the Barite crystals are not in the typical "flower" / "rosette" formation as we're used to seeing from this mine. Very cool for the locality, and hard to find these days.
