Item Description

An old classic from Freiberg featuring "rosette"-esque groups of bladed off-white Barite crystals associated with reddish (iron-stained) Calcite crystals showing both rhombic and prismatic habits) on host rock matrix. The largest individual Barite blade measures about 8 mm, and the Calcites measure up to about 3-4 mm. A nice combo piece from one of the most storied localities in all of Europe. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10029). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
