Item Description

An imposing, 6.2 x 4.8 x 2.6 cm, very stout, glassy, translucent, yellow to colorless, barite crystal dominates this very sculptural combination specimen from this deposit, the worlds largest antimony mine. Stibiconite sections, front and back, to 7.0 cm, partially coated with small orthorhombic valentinite microcrystals on the barite crystal matrix are a superb accent. The dramatic frontal display view is nearly pristine, with only a modest bit of termination edge wear noted to the large barite and a bit of bruising to the stibiconite rod. The back of the large barite crystal termination is dinged, but is out-of-sight. This IS a striking, scuptural and uncommon combination specimen from this noted locale. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection.
