Barite w/ phantoms (classic locale) ex Obodda

Item Description

An impressive and rich barite plate from this well-known historic mine (opened in 1726 and still operating). The glassy spearpoint blades, to about 2.8 cm, have transparent to translucent outer sections surrounding striking interior phantoms of color-zoned, iron oxides. The color zonation is very sharp on these barites and is typical for barites from this classic locale. A striking and excellent plate from the Herb Obodda dealer stock.
