Item Description

Barite specimens are seldom available from this older and obscure, Missouri barite-lead mine, that opened in 1938 and closed 1943. Transparent to translucent, cream colored, tabular barite crystals occur on matrix in this specimen. The largest crystal reaches 3.0 cm in length. There is only minor bruising which does not detract from the specimen. Ex Marty Zinn Collection # 7322.
