Barite (superb Oregon)

Oregon is not known for excellent barite specimens, but here is a superb for the very uncommon locale CABINET specimen. This striking piece is composed of thick, sharp, yellow, spearpoints. The large, glassy, translucent crystal is 4.0 cm wide and 3.7 cm tall and is complete all-around. The preferential coating on the crystals add character. Nearly pristine, the infinitesimal edgewear to the large crystal, trivial edgewear to a couple of other crystals and the periphery wear are noted, but certainly have very minimal impact on the overall outstanding quality of this fine piece. Very rare on the market in this size and quality from this Oregon locale!
