Item Description
A beautiful and certainl eye-catching display specimen of Barite from the famous Bulldog Mine in Creede. This piece is loaded with dozens upon dozens of bright, sharp, highly lustrous, white to nearly colorless, tabular bladed Barite crystals forming beautiful "rosette"-shapped aggregates coating virtually all sides of the specimen. An impressive aspect of the piece is that it is crystallized all the way around, and does not have a major broken point of contact where it detached from the pocket wall. To top it off, nearly every crystal on this specimen is undamaged! The largest Barite crystal group measures 3.2 cm across. The piece can be display from several angles, as you can see from the photos, and the quality of the crystals is as fine as anything I have seen from Creede. A superb fist-sized display specimen from this important Silver mine in Colorado, and a worthwhile piece for any collector of Colorado minerals. From the famous Colorado collection of Richard A. Kosnar. Valued at $900-$1000.
