Item Description

A rare, older and impressive CABINET barite specimen from this Polish copper mine and the Dave Stoudt Collection. Billowing, intergrown stalactites of intergrown rosettes of lustrous, translucent, honey-brown, bladed barite compose this striking 360 degree specimen. Some contacting is noted, but this remains a dramatic, rare and large example of the species and locale. Dave lived and worked in Poland and purchased this amazing piece in Warsaw in 1998, according to his label. Also from a Polish museum. MINDAT lists this mine as being active only from 1961-1968. 4.9 pounds or 2.2 kilos.
