Item Description

Blocky, lustrous, translucent, honey-brown, barite crystals cover the front of this showy and excellent piece, The two-toned crystals on the back have a preferential secondary barite overgrowth giving them a frosted look. The matrix is massive barite. The striking, large, dominating crystal is 3.2 x 2.7 cm. Periphery wear is noted on two edges and on both ends, but is certainly nothing to detraction. A high quality two-sided example of the species and locale from the Ernie and Vera Schlichter Collection. Valued $300-400.
