Barite (rare locale)

Item Description

Large clusters of tabular, lustrous and translucent, ivory colored barite crystals, to 12 cm across, form an attractive sculptural pattern. It does have some minor edge wear, as to be expected, but this is not so obvious from a distance and given the size and rare localilty, I can live with it. This is a large barite from an unusual locality, self-collected by a friend of the former owner many decades ago.
