Item Description

A striking, very showy and rich combination specimen from the famous Florence Mine. Scintillating, tiny silvery metallic plates of specularite hematite (velvet) cover the bubbly, botryoidal, banded hematite kidney ore matrix. Lustrous, tabular, barite crystals are richly and attractively strewn across the crest of the piece. Classic and uncommon combination material recovered in the early 1970s mining operations. Ex Ralph Sutcliffe Collection, noted English collector and dealer.
