Item Description

A stunning, 3.2 cm, concentric bladed ball of snow-white, parallel-growth, barite blades from this ancient locale, known since the Roman Era. The grayish tint to the ball is due to the very rich preferential dusting of tiny, sparkly, pyrite or masasite crystals on the barite crystals edges. The sculptural matrix plate is festooned with gorgeous, scintillating, gem, rubyjack sphalerite crystals, more pyrite/marcasite crystals and patches of bone-white dolomite rhombs. Outstanding and most aesthetic combination material from this historic locale. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection. Value???
